Ballet Detroit, under the direction of Artistic Director, Sergey Rayevskiy, offers world-class training in the Vaganova method of classical ballet in Detroit for serious ballet students. In the beautiful setting of the studios at the Detroit Opera House, Sergey Rayevskiy brings master teachers and choreographers from around the world to offer students the training, exposure, and performance opportunities required to be a professional dancer and share their love for this art form in Detroit and internationally.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Ballet Detroit Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, located at the historical Detroit Opera House. Ballet Detroit’s mission is to contribute to dancers’ personal development, to assist performing arts organizations by rendering educational services, and to form a communications space for professional choreographers based on the following principles:
Tradition – preservation of historical experience in the field of professional ballet dancers’ education, based on the Vaganova classical dance method.
Integration – promotion of accumulated professional experience in ballet education and the consolidation of choreographic educational centers in the United States and other countries in the world.
Quality – conformity of educational services to the highest performance standards, demanded and expected of employers as well.
Continuity – development of a unique ballet education system starting from primary training to post-graduate courses.
Ethicality – implementation of educational activities in conformity with moral standards of emerging cultural society.
